PSP phone rumours ringing again

25 06 2008

I love the idea of a PSP phone. In fact, I love it so much that I’m happy to report THEY’VE DONE IT ALREADY. The slim PSP has Skype capability.

Still, I guess by PSP phone, people are talking about a cellphone similar to the iPhone.

Well, for those who care about THAT kind of phone, here’s the latest rumour.

Marketing Week says the PSP phone could be out by Christmas 2009, among other comments from unnamed sources — the pinnacle of journalism.

Microsoft springs a leak

16 06 2008

The floodgates have opened at Microsoft, and the leak is a doozy. Info on Call of Duty 5, Guitar Hero 4 songs and the tantalizing “motion sensing board” for Tony Hawk.

The leak was picked up by neoGAF. And it quickly travelled the Internet from there. Wired sums up some of the revelations quite well.

The most intriguing bit for me is the possible introduction of avatars that you can create and use to interact online. It would be a good blend of Nintendo’s Mii and Sony’s upcoming online lobby, known as home.

I can hardly wait to design an Xbox Mii.

Rock Band 2 has a tough act to follow

Xbox Fanboy has gotten its hands on possible cover art being sent around by EA along with some sort of survey. Both look pretty much the same as the original box art.

For Metallica fans fretting over why Aerosmith got its own dedicated Guitar Hero game, there may be justice after all.

Gamespot is reporting Activision is planning to release Guitar Hero: Metallica in 2009.

Something to look forward to…

Xbox’s famous Major Nelson says he expects that the demo for Ninja Gaiden 2 will be out next week.

I enjoyed Ninja Gaiden Black, so I plan on playing the demo.

Here’s the TV ad, if you haven’t seen it.

Gears 2 heating up

27 05 2008

An Xbox Fanboy reader has spotted an interesting detail in the recent magazine story about Gears of War. According to screenshots featured in the mag, the game looks like it will have a flamethrower.

But more interesting to me is how heavily people are frothing over this game. Everything that comes out in the media gets uber-analyzed. It reminds me of a another game that came out not long ago for the 360…
